Is there a garden?
There seems to be no hot water in the afternoon, how can I adjust this?
There is hot water in the tank but not usually enough for six people if that is how many are staying as it is a normal sized tank. To boost the hot water use the boost dial. Instructions on how to use the thermostat are here but I recommend that unless another guest has changed the timer you can leave it to come on in the morning and then boost to shower later in the evening if needed.
We want to visit the Islands – how do we book the ferry or how do we do that?
Calmac ferry is only about 5-10 minute walk from the flat. You can book the ferry here:
Ferries are operated by Caledonian MacBrayne (often called CalMac). Book here and ask the host for which ferry to book if you are unsure: https://www.calmac.co.uk . In the summer time you must book well in advance of your trip (yes ideally months in advance). You can also read our guide here.
Do you have a hairdryer?
Yes we do, it should be in the top drawer in the main bedroom that faces the town. If you find it is missing please report that to us – as with any other missing expected utensils or utilities.
Best place to buy gifts?
There are multiple shops in Oban itself while you visit.. if you are missing Scotland you can buy gifts or art here at Island gifts.
Where can I charge my electric car?
You can charge your car in a multitude of places and I highly recommend downloading ZapMap for identifying charges near to you during your stay. There is a super charger at the ferry but this is only for customers using the ferry. Tesco has PODPOINT chargers and there are multiple other chargers throughout town. The nearest Tesla supercharger as I speak is Fort William but there is supposedly one in Tyndrum now but I have not been to it so could not say if it is operational – you can use ZapMap to get live up to date info on what chargers are working or available in the local vicinity.
